Olympic & Paralympic Week – Day 3

🍎 Olympic & Paralympic Week – Day 3 🥋

Our young athletes kicked off the morning by exploring the vital components of nutrition – from understanding what fuels our bodies best to the importance of pre-workout snacks. Learning about crafting a balanced, nutritious plate empowered our kids to make informed choices for their well-being. 🥗

💦 Staying hydrated emerged as a key theme, with our participants discovering the power of water as the ultimate thirst-quencher. Engaging activities, including a scavenger hunt for wholesome snacks, made learning about healthy choices fun and interactive.

🏃‍♂️ Thanks to the Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Program, some of our young athletes had the unique opportunity to step into the Motion and Sports Analysis Lab. Here, they gained insights into safe movement practices tailored to their budding athletic pursuits to prevent injury. ⛹️‍♂️

As the day unfolded, our athletes embraced the spirit of inclusivity through a remarkable judo training session. With blindfolds adorning their eyes, they honed their skills, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in every move. It was a poignant reminder of the power of sport to transcend barriers and unite communities.✨

Stay tuned for more updates as our LFSD students continue to shine brightly at the Olympic and Paralympic Week!
