French & Bilingual Education
Le programme français
LFSD follows the French national curriculum while progressively introducing the U.S. curriculum, from full French immersion in preschool to a balanced trilingual program in middle school.
The French national curriculum
LFSD is accredited by the French Ministry of Education (Éducation nationale). Our teachers follow the same programs as schools in France, combined with the U.S. curriculum.
Part of the AEFE network
Our students can continue their education in the AEFE network of over 600 French schools worldwide, in U.S. schools, or in international programs such as the IB.
French Proficiency & Certification
Students can prepare for internationally recognized DELF certifications, with opportunities to reach advanced levels of French proficiency, up to B2. Our program also builds the language skills needed for future advanced French study, including AP French Language and Culture.
No French required to start
Young children learn languages naturally. No prior French is required to join our preschool, and every child is supported as their French grows.
A progressive bilingual journey
English language arts, then U.S. math, science and social studies are introduced step by step, while keeping the rigor of the French system. By the end of 8th grade, students are ready for U.S. schools, the AEFE network of over 600 French schools worldwide, or international programs such as the IB.
Join LFSD
LFSD welcomes all families, regardless of race, color, religious affiliation, national or ethnic origin. No prior French is required to start in preschool.
